Update

For those of you who are interested, here is the update on Brianna and her new bed... Ever since the first nap that didn't go so well, she has been sleeping great! Maybe better than in the crib! I know it hasn't been that long - but hopefully this will continue!
Gary has requested that I post a couple of pictures from his day. If you know Gary, you know that he is passionate about 1 thing - THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES! He managed to get tickets to the game today - here are a couple of pictures.
Hi Brutus! As Brianna says - "Go Buckeyes"

New bed for Brianna

Well, we weren't exactly planning on getting rid of Brianna's crib this early... Gary wanted to build her a bed while it was still nice outside. Once the bed was made - we got a little excited to see it all put together in her room. We didn't have a mattress for it yet, so I found a great deal that only lasted until Sept. 6th. (Of course we had to go buy it yesterday!) Now that we had all the stuff we didn't want to store it somewhere then haul it back upstairs - so today was the day Brianna got her new bed and said goodbye to her crib. You may be wondering how she likes her new bed. Let's just say day 1 didn't go so well. She cried at naptime (which isn't really unusual lately) - and said she didn't like her "princess" bed. We had this really cute netting that hung from the ceiling - as you can see from the pictures she didn't like that at all and I had to take it down.

(Here's an up close picture right after it was painted.) After learning that getting out of her bed during naptime and running into Brayden's room was a really bad idea, she finally cried herself to sleep. I have a feeling we're in for a really rough night (I'm not ready to have another visitor in my room at night!)! Pray for us!

Brayden's first day of Pre-K

Brayden had his first day of Pre-K today. He only went for half of the time with half of the kids. Tomorrow all the kids will be there for the full 3 hours so I'm sure I'll have more stories then. So far he likes his class and has made some new friends. Here is a picture of him standing by his locker with Colin (he was in his class last year). I didn't have a locker until middle school! I couldn't really get any good pictures - they wouldn't look at me long enough! Brianna wanted to stay at school with her brother! Next year...
His class is called the FROGS (fully rely on God)!

Brayden wanted Spongebob!
Brianna is getting brave with mascots!
Brayden giving the cow a great hug! Brayden starts Pre-K tomorrow! Stay tuned for picture from his first day!

Beijing 2008 swimmers

Here's Brianna taking a Nestea plunge! Brayden with his teacher Mimi.
He does better without the yellow bubble belt!
Cheese!

Brayden finished swim lessons tonight! Here's a video of him swimming freestyle - kind-of hard to see. Ever since he let me put goggles on him he's been swimming like a fish!
Here is a video of Brianna showing off her moves in the pool - her twist and her flip! (By the way, she had another perfect potty day today! And she is surviving without her "nummy"! ) Looks like Gary is smoking a cigar! It's really just a dive stick!
Cannonball!

Singing in the rain!

Last night we had a lot of rain and this morning it was still raining off and on. Brayden and Brianna have been taking turns getting the morning newspaper - so this morning I decided to let them go out with their own umbrellas - I thought it was so cute I had to take a picture! Brianna update:
Today was her first perfect potty day!!! She didn't have a single accident. She got a ton of stickers, special treats, and phone calls from her favorites (Dora, Boots, Tasha...) We are making some serious progress! She has had 2 dry nights in a row too. Hopefully, she does as well tomorrow!
"Nummy" update:
She slept great the last 2 nights after some serious crying (that lasted 30 minutes or less). First day she completely skipped her nap. Today she took a nap but she was pretty upset about it at first. Now, tonight she is quiet - she only cried for 5 minutes - however I still hear her rolling around awake (it's almost 10 pm). Anyway, she's growing up! She talks about her nummy but I just keep telling her she threw it away and she is a big girl now!
Here's a picture of her playing with her puppy playdough.

We went to the zoo on a special night - they had jazz music, food, mascots, and free train rides. That was pretty fun!

Big girl...

I don't have any pictures but I wanted to post a couple of things about Brianna. We've decided to potty train her. Today she only had 1 accident - which was awesome! Hopefully, tomorrow will be just as good. But here is a funny story:
The other day I didn't have a diaper/pull-up on her (I wanted to see what would happen). I was watching her most of the morning - putting her on the potty many times. Well, anyway, I looked over at her and she was standing on a smeared wet spot and her lamb slippers were pretty wet - she was dry everywhere else - I was so confused. Later that day Brayden was taking toy instruments out of the drum that I threw them into and he said, "mommy this stuff is all wet". Turns out she had used the drum instead of the potty and apparently stepped in it afterwards! I couldn't be mad - I was laughing too hard!
Another thing - we had Brianna throw away her pacifier ("nummy") today. She only uses it when she sleeps but we knew it was time. So tonight she is sleeping with a couple of stuffed animals of her choice. At the moment she is quiet - but she definitely was heart broken and cried herself to sleep (I think she's asleep). Pray that we can get some sleep tonight! I hated to do it.
On a brighter note - Brianna is quite the swimmer! We'll have to take a video of it so you can see what I'm talking about. But she amazes everyone at the pool. She can swim down underwater to get a dive stick (with her eyes wide open). She does back flips just holding onto my thumbs (I don't have to do anything). She does twists underwater. She treaded water a little bit today. Who knows what she'll learn this week! It's so fun to watch both of the kids love the water. Brayden is a little more cautious but he's awesome in the water too. He's learning freestyle (definitely better than I was at 4). He can do back flips and floats too. His favorite knew thing is doing cannonballs!
